The tech22 servo motor eliminator allows complete removal of the heavy, redundant servo motor and it's cables when an aftermarket exhaust system has been fitted. The completed unit (less wiring) is roughly the size of a matchbox (54x38x23 mm) and weighs approximately 76 grams (25% of the weight of a standard servo motor).
The tech22 servo motor eliminator emulates exactly the characteristics of the servo motor and prevents the fault codes and any possible restriction to the ignition mapping.
This is achieved using no moving parts at all by utilising solid-state devices and digital technology. The module allows the ECU to believe that a) it is powering the servo motor in the normal way and b) think that it is monitoring the valve's position correctly at all times. This happens at power up when the ECU normally tests the exhaust valve and, more importantly, during normal riding conditions or when racing.
When the ignition is turned off, the standard exhaust valve may stay open at any position. The valve is corrected when the ignition is turned on again and the ECU runs through it's self check routines. This operation is also fully emulated by the tech22 module, which will store the last exhaust valve position in non-volatile RAM until the ignition is turned on again.
Each unit is fully calibrated and tested before being completely sealed in high grade epoxy resin and will require no maintenance during it's life. The unit is built in a tough, black, ABS plastic box and is both water and oil resistant. Standard OEM connectors are used allowing the unit to simply plug in to the existing loom - no soldering, no crimping and no splice connectors.
